New Mom School Comes to Las Vegas
Motherhood is a life-altering experience, filled with beauty, challenges, and countless questions — especially in the early months. For Las Vegas moms, a powerful new resource is arriving to support them through the fourth trimester and beyond. New Mom School Southwest Las Vegas, brought to us by Las Vegas native and licensed marriage and family therapist Ally Hanneke, is bringing research-based postpartum education and heartfelt community support to the desert.
We had the pleasure of sitting down with Ally to learn more about her journey, why she brought New Mom School to her hometown, and how she’s building a local village for moms who need it most.
Ally, welcome back to Las Vegas! What inspired you to bring New Mom School to your hometown?
“I experienced New Mom School in Orange County with my daughter and absolutely fell in love,” Ally shares. “When I saw they were franchising, I knew Las Vegas desperately needed something like this. Plus, it was a chance for us to move back closer to family and friends. So many people move here and don’t have their village — and as most moms know, it’s really hard to do this alone. I’m excited to create a close-knit mom community here in Vegas.”
Tell us about New Mom School - What do you offer?
“At New Mom School, we are a postnatal education program supporting new moms in the fourth trimester and beyond,” Ally explains. “We offer in-person, expert-led classes tailored to your baby’s developmental stage — from newborn to rising toddler — along with dedicated support for second-time moms and a free breastfeeding support group.”
What makes New Mom School stand out is its unique, mom-focused approach. While babies are welcome (and encouraged!) to attend, the real focus is on nurturing and educating the mother — something that is often overlooked in traditional postpartum care.
As a licensed marriage and family therapist, how does your professional background influence your approach?
Ally’s experience as a therapist is a major asset to her work. “I’m especially passionate about helping women reduce anxiety and build confidence as they navigate early motherhood,” she says. “My background allows me to tune into the emotional needs that often go unspoken — whether it’s identity shifts, relationship changes, or the pressure to be a 'perfect' parent. I aim to create a safe, supportive space where moms feel seen and empowered.”
What sets New Mom School apart from other postpartum support programs?
According to Ally, it comes down to three things:
A mom-focused approach
Classes grouped by baby’s birth month
A research-based curriculum taught by local experts
“Our curriculum gives moms the tools to be confident parents, while also helping them feel supported, not judged,” she says. “But honestly, it’s the community that makes the biggest difference. Moms bond deeply with others in the same season of life — and those friendships often last well beyond the classes.”
Can you tell us about the types of classes offered at your Las Vegas location?
New Mom School Southwest Las Vegas offers classes for every stage of early motherhood:
Newborn (0–3 months)
Infant (3–6 months)
Rising Toddler (6–12 months)
Second Time Moms
Free Breastfeeding Support Group
Each class runs for 8 weeks, meeting once per week. Newborn, infant, and second-time mom classes are 90 minutes long, while rising toddler classes are 75 minutes.
What do the classes cover?
The Newborn class explores topics like soothing a fussy baby, postpartum anxiety, newborn sleep, tummy time, relationships after baby, and more.
In the Infant class, moms learn about starting solids, baby play and development, infant massage, baby-proofing, and positive discipline.
The Second Time Moms class includes everything from the newborn class, plus support for the transition from one to two children and helping older siblings adjust.
Rising Toddler covers language development, sensory play, nutrition, creating a “yes” space, and preparing for doctor visits.
Are babies welcome in class?
Absolutely! “Our studio is designed with moms and babies in mind,” Ally says. “You can nurse, feed, change diapers, stand, bounce, or step out as needed. Crying babies don’t bother us — we get it! Their cries always sound louder to you than to anyone else. We’re here to help you through those tough moments.”
Do you have any local “rockstars” joining your team?
